This project is national in scope and has widespread applicability. The national conference will target a large sector of the national population. This project addresses the following important issues in urban and community forestry at the national level, such as

• Urban forestry outreach to minority communities in the nation,

• Enhancing the educational awareness of the minority sectors in the nation by increasing their knowledge of the importance of the field of urban forestry, and

• Establishing a national network of minority leaders in urban and community forestry.

The project product will be disseminated nationwide. A survey of conference participants will be accomplished to measure how this project has increased the public's knowledge of the importance of the urban and community forestry.
