Conference Goal: Southern University in collaboration with the Civil Rights unit of USDA-FS and other partners  is hosting the first National Urban and Community Forestry (U&CF) Education and Outreach Conference for Minority and Underserved Communities. The goal is to increase the involvement of minority and underserved populations in  U&CF programs. Specifically,

A)  Educate minority sectors in the care and stewardship of urban forests where they live, work, and play.

B)  Create a strong network of minority communities, non-profit organizations, federal agencies, and private industries to better target the needs of the communities, and

C)  Provide information on educational, funding, and career opportunities in urban and community  forestry.
